Serious Side Effects from Use of Viagra

Side Effects of Viagra

A study carried out by Harry A Milman and reported to the Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System noted that Viagra, otherwise famous the world over for overcoming and treating erectile dysfunction, was found to cause psychological disturbances and sexual aggression.
Although no concrete existed prior to this finding, yet these researches by Milman provided first piece of evidence as to the direct relationship between sexual assault and the use of Viagra.

Viagra Research

In order to confirm the hypothesis, Milman and other scientists ventured on to study the literature on the principal drug sildenafil, nitric oxide. These studies on Sildenafil revealed that the use of Viagra caused a number of biochemical changes in the human brain, and that brought about physiologic effects on the workings of the brain.
Key areas of change noted include the sections of the brain, which are responsible for the behavior, sexual drive, and emotion of the individual. Statistics to this effect showed that there were more than 270 cases of neurological disturbances, amnesia, as well as aggressive behavior noted from the use of Sildenafil.
These studies further proved that though there was significant evidence to suggest a relationship with the various functions of the central nervous system, particularly its adverse effects, however a definite link could not be found with the use of Viagra and 'drag and sexual aggression'.

Viagra Precautions

Hence, it was suggested that individuals using Viagra for erectile dysfunction must consult their physicians about the possible neurological, emotional or psychological disturbances that may result from the use of the subject drug.
